The opportunity to delve deeper
A weekly workshop gives our senior students the opportunity to delve deeper into the craft of acting to create memorable performances. A combination of acting technique and character exercises coupled with theatre skills development and performance, Senior Production takes students on a complex journey culminating in full-scale theatrical productions and several public performances.
Two senior productions run concurrently with both younger and older students working separately on challenging, age-appropriate material. Some students may be involved in both productions.
Students experience the entire process from auditions, rehearsals, character development, direction, costume fittings, publicity and performance, culminating in public performances in Terms 3 & 4.
Students can also compete and be adjudicated at the Sunshine Coast Drama Eisteddfod. Complete commitment is required for this class, including attendance at all rehearsals.
In Term Three and Four this class may run later (5:30pm) as performance approaches and certain Saturdays will be involved (Play Festival and 2-3 Saturday rehearsals).
Acting Up! Production students get the opportunity to perform original works and originate characters due to the stable of writers producing material specifically for these students.
Production Class is a PERFORMANCE class requiring a high level of focus, commitment and self-discipline. Entry to this class is by audition at the discretion of Acting Up!
An Acting Up! T-shirt (can be worn to class and for some publicity work) must be purchased
Ages 12-19, Thursdays 3:30 to 5:00 pm (90 mins), $22 per class
*Fees are charged by the term.
